Urea protein can be fed economically and effectively to ruminants. Microorganisms which flourish in the rumen utilize the urea protein, which is then converted into amino acids. Very young ruminants, without a fully developed rumen, and non-ruminant animals should be fed natural protein. It is essential that ruminants consuming urea protein receive adequate forage and water.
