About Atwoods

On New year's Eve, 1959, Wilbur and Fern Atwood left Marshall, Minnesota and headed for Enid, Oklahoma. They drove their old Ford pick-up through a blizzard in Nebraska and an ice storm in Kansas before arriving in Enid on New Year's Day, 1960. They came to start a new business, not because of demographics or market research, but because they liked the community and felt comfortable here.

Today Atwoods operates 34 stores in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, and Kansas and has added Clothing, Tools & Hardware, Lawn & Garden, Sporting Goods, Pet Supplies, and Seasonal categories to it's merchandise assortment.

The Atwoods' Team is now well over 1000 strong. Atwoods has grown from it's original 8,000 square feet to over 1,500,000 square feet of retail space. The Company has undergone many changes over the past 45 years. One thing that has not changed is our commitment to serving our customers with quality merchandise at great prices.
